How did MAW come to be?

I have been teaching Mindful Actor Workshops since 2012 + originated it in Vancouver, BC, Canada with a desire to bridge meditation + self development practices with acting technique + Chakra psychology.

The Chakras came to the west in the 1800’s from the ancient writings of the Vedas in the roots of Hinduism. I started to explore the Chakras in my work in the 2000’s where I quickly saw that it was a way for me to not only embody character differently, but calm my anxiety + propelled me out of a dark depression. It is with deep respect + reverence we explore the teachings of the Chakra system.

I wanted to make a course that put everything that has ever helped me into the curriculum to help those who were where I was when I began my acting journey - starting with no tools to ground, overcome fear, or speak with authority in my authenticy.

In these acting classes you will learn simple + practical tools that tune you in to the present moment, both on stage + in life. Connecting to your voice, growing your self confidence + trust in your body.

Use the power of your Chakras to create distinct physical characters who are fully embodied, dynamic + instinctual and along the way see where you yourself are blocked, under or over active.
