FAQ

Q. Do i need to have acting experience to get something from these classes?

A. Not at all!! In fact, many Mindful Actor Workshops have half “creative” people and half people who consider themselves actors. The work is a beautiful way to gently get out of your comfort zone and learn tools for any sort of work you do.

Q. Do i need to know anything about chakras before the class?

A. Not at all!! We will go through each one so that you feel really comfortable and have a deep understanding of their themes, resting states and the sensations of each within your own body. We also look at how to find balance in each to bring you peace in your every day life.

Q. ARE THE CLASSES DIFFERENT ONLINE on zoom THAN THEY ARE in person?

A. I feel really lucky that the work translates really well to online life. The only real difference is you will be at home rather than in a studio - no commute! All the exercises are still as they were, except for 2 that included touch that have now been replaced with different exercises. You are also muted for some of the work on your end, where as in class we could have been able to hear everyone speaking their text all together at once - so now you have the ability to focus solely on your text, which works really well. The last change is that we can’t end class with some aromatherapy, but you can do that on your own too! :)

Q. what if I have to miss a class?

A. No worries, everything in it’s perfect timing. I do offer make up classes. Those are slightly abridged since we do not have the others for their feedback. The cost of these classes are $30 a session.

Q. Do you record the classes?

A. Because of the nature of the work, I strongly believe these classes should not be recorded. What you share of your own story is up to you, and will stay within the circle of trust. Everything is received in an environment of non judgement, of ourselves and of each other, and I feel having it recording free allows us a deeper freedom to show up, mask off.

Q. is there homework in the class?

A. Yes, but the degree to which you participate in the homework is up to you. It is helpful to have your text off book. There are daily writing pages and gratitude work for you to do throughout the intensives that are designed to allow you an outlet to get some things out when the work stirs something inside you. It is also a tool for creativity by increasing your outflow. Each week there are also optional creative dates and challenges.

Q. Are you ever going back to in person classes?

A. At the moment it’s tough to say, I am currently back and forth from Vancouver and have no set return date. But for now, I am deeply grateful for Zoom and our ability to practice the work at home around the world.

Q. can I audit a class?

A. Again because of the nature of the course, I don’t allow audits. The best thing to do is join me in a Warm Up class to get my vibe as a guide and try some of the exercises to see if it’s a good fit. Trust your instincts. Reading through the testimonials will also give you a sense of what to expect!
